Casa Bella means ‘beautiful home’ in Italian and this Neapolitan inspired eatery’s interior style is just that. A true embodiment of its name, Casa Bella has several cosy establishments around the country and serves up hearty Italian fare.
In paying homage to the city that inspired the restaurant, Casa Bella’s menu offers a wide range of Neapolitan-style pizzas, as well as a selection of pastas and grills. Following the pizza making guidelines used in Naples 200 years ago, their simple and elegant pizzas consist of fresh ingredients, hand-kneaded dough, mozzarella cheese, basil and olive oil. This is then baked in an extremely hot wood-fired oven for a short amount of time, ensuring a light and crisp base.
Casa Bella’s interior is both homely and elegant with lots of natural wood, exposed brick and concrete. These rustic elements are combined with tables decked out in beautiful silver cutlery, glassware and linen napkins. To complete the look, Casa Bella required seating that would tie in with the restaurant’s overall aesthetic. Woodbender designed what is now known as the Sedgefield chair specifically for this installation. Drawing inspiration from the ever popular “shaker chair”, the Sedgefield has a spindle backrest and rounded legs. The back legs have taken on a signature Woodbender characteristic and kick out slightly, accentuating the bent wood leg. To compliment the restaurant’s warm and earthy palette, the seat surfaces were upholstered in a tan leather and the wood was finished with a satin ebony stain.
