Last year we launched the Henley chair. This contemporary interpretation of the historic Windsor chair received an enthusiastic reception from trade customers and the public alike. Now, staying true to the innovation ethos at the very core of Woodbender brand promise, we’re proud to present an updated version of this popular seating option.
Named the Henley after the English town Henley-on-Thames, this Comback chair has been further strengthened by the addition of a bottom brace around the inner legs of the chair. The decision to reinforce this European-style chair with a ring brace makes it even more robust for venue applications and high traffic areas which demand sturdy seating to withstand heavy usage by large crowds of people. It may be solid and stable but that doesn’t mean this revisitation of an old English classic is without aesthetic appeal. Tradition is honoured in the five-spindle backrest and the graceful curved seat stays true to the classic silhouette that is synonymous with this style of chair. The Henley is a minimalist, modern approach to an otherwise historic furniture piece and this is evident in the clean lines and simple shapes that make up its structure.
The seat of the Henley is padded and upholstered for maximum comfort and is easy to remove, making reupholstery an easy process should you wish to update the fabric further down the line. This functionality has proven to be a favourite among hospitality owners as they can change the look of their space without compromising the integrity of the chair. Customers can order the Henley in traditional timber finishes or get creative by choosing from a range of on-trend colours. As with all Woodbender designs, the Henley is made from solid ash timber and is available in an upholstery of choice.
