The journey of a Woodbender chair starts when a customer either contacts us directly, visits our showroom in Parkhurst, Johannesburg or Helderberg, Western Cape or browses our range online. Whether they’re looking for occasional chairs, dining room chairs, kitchen stools or bar stools, we have a wide selection of styles to choose from.
In our showrooms and on our website, our chairs are upholstered in neutral colours to allow the customer to focus on the design of the chair and enable them to visualise it in their environment.
So, what happens once a customer has decided on a design? The next steps enable them to transform the look of the piece and make it uniquely theirs…
Choosing an upholstery fabric:
The customer will need to select an upholstery fabric, one that fits their sense of style and that, importantly, complements the piece. They can supply us with their own fabric if they wish or choose one from any of the fabric houses and we will order it on their behalf.
Selecting a timber finish:
The customer then chooses from between 15 standard timber finishes, which are available at no extra cost. The tints range from natural shades like ash, oak, honey, cherry and walnut to neutrals like limewash, white and Egyptian cotton. We also offer bright tints in red, yellow and blue.
Once all the design decisions have been made and we have all the information we need, we move on to the next stage of the journey – the crafting of the wooden frame in our workshop.
